It's 5 more days until County Fair entries are due... and my standup freezer decided to crap out on me on Sunday. We got back from Louisville and I went to get something out of the freezer when I found water all over the pantry floor and everything in the freezer thawed out. I spent the rest of the night tossing food out and cleaning up the water. Freezer is empty now and I'm not going to deal with it until next week!
I picked up my exhibitor cards and entry tags from the Extension office today. It's SO much easier to do them at home before you get to the fair grounds. I also did the bulk of my grocery shopping and tried planning out the baking schedule. Here's the plan...
Wednesday
Make all my candy and start making cookie dough before going to work.
Thursday
Bake my cookies. Start quick breads.
Friday
Make my pies and yeast breads.
I'm going to try to get the kitchen cleaned and prepped tonight if I get home before 1 am. It's still a disaster right now because I had to pull most of my stuff out of the pantry to clean the freezer mess.
